Bratislava Economic Meeting 2008

1st Bratislava Economic Meeting

The patronage over the conference has been kindly adopted by the Vice Prime Minister and the Minister for Education of Slovak Republic.


Scholars from Slovak and international institutions are invited to present their unpublished analytical work or new research in all areas of economics - theoretical, empirical, experimental, institutional, or policy oriented. The main objective of this meeting is to foster contacts and lasting academic cooperation between Slovak and international economists.

Young economists, graduate students, and post-docs, who wish to present their research and obtain feedback, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Conference venue: University of Economics in Bratislava, Dolnozemská cesta 1, Bratislava.

Keynote speaker: We are pleased to announce that

has agreed to deliver the keynote lecture.

Procedures: Conference language is English or Slovak. There is no conference fee. Authors should submit abstracts by e-mail to vsl@virtualsciencelab.org.

Financial Aid: Limited accommodation funds will be available for participants who are not from Bratislava and who cannot obtain sufficient financial support from their home institutions. If you need accommodation funds, please send an e-mail to vsl@virtualsciencelab.org including your status (either student or faculty member) by April 30. The final decision will be announced by May 15.

Important dates: Submission deadline for abstracts (up to 500 words): April 30, 2008
